300+ Volunteer Opportunities for Teens

We can easily find volunteer opportunities for teens within our local communities and there is a need for their time, talent and thoughts.

Encouraging and teaching my teen son to give back to our community is a priority for me. We live in a society that seems to focus on material items – having more, getting more and being more. As we prepare for high school next year, reality is setting in that before I know it my “baby” will leave the nest.

FACT: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2013 the volunteer rate declined by 1.1% to 25.4% – the lowest since they began keeping statistics in 2002.

FACT: Volunteer rates were lowest among 20- to 24-year-olds (18.5 percent) and teens (16- to 19-year-olds) had a volunteer rate of 26.2 percent. 35- to 44-year-olds were most likely to volunteer (30.6 percent).

What did I take from those statistics? Many of the parents of children my son’s age are in that age group are most likely to volunteer. It is my responsibility as a parent to teach and instill a passion for giving back to his local community. My passion and the purpose behind this website is to motivate and encourage women to walk in their purpose and help others become better people overall. That passion is not lost on my sons because I value the impact that they will have on our community and the world they live in.
