Identify Your Role
Welcome to Day 16 of our 31 Days of Embracing Your Divatude Challenge! Today’s challenge is to identify your role for others. Yesterday, we focused on the key players on our team, now we are going to reflect on how we fit in on others starting line-up.
If you are new to the challenge, you can catch up here.
Briefly, the month of May is dedicated to focusing on our Divatude – being driven, inspiring, victorious and called to action in our personal and professional lives. As women, different aspects of divatude impact our daily walk at all times. Our focus with this challenge is taking the time to reflect on our daily attitudes and actions and ensuring we are focusing on what will lift us and others around us up.
Part of having a great team to encourage and motivate us, is being an active and willing participant. Just as we need someone an encourager, shining star, visionary, accountability partner, and anchor – those around us need the same! As we are on our path to embracing our divatude and being women that are driven, inspiring, victorious and called to action we need to reflect on our strengths and opportunity areas and determine how we can best support those around us.
Surprisingly, we may not have the same role in the lives of everyone’s support team we are on. While we may be an encourager to one person, we may find ourselves being an anchor to another. This will be dependent on their needs and your experience in the area that they are growing in.
Also, be mindful not to spread yourself thin. While we want to help others and be available to those that ask for our assistance, knowing when to say no is fantastic trait to have. It allows us to keep balance and it allows those truly needing help and support to find it in someone that has the time and energy to dedicate it.
Your Challenge: Reflect on the roles you play for others. Are you spread too thin? Are you truly fulfilling your role? Are you in the role they need you in or the role you want to be in? There’s a difference, I promise.
