Too Hot in the Kitchen: Secrets To Sizzle At Any Age
Happy Christmas Eve, Divas!
Tonight my children and I are spending quality time together and finishing up some last minute gifts for family and friends.
We found a super simple brown sugar scrub recipe in Too Hot in the Kitchen: Secrets To Sizzle At Any Age written by Holly B. Clegg. The author was gracious enough to send me a copy of this recipe book to review – perfect timing to prepare for one of my 2015 goals to incorporate more home-cooked meals into my family’s routine.
I love that the recipes in this cookbook are easy to prepare and are dishes everyone in my family will enjoy. A bigger plus is that most are easy enough for my teenager to try solo!
This book, also, includes tons of extras – like coffee pairings, freezer friendly and vegetarian symbols next to recipes. The “Spicy Advice” includes cooking tips and reminders to help enhance the recipes included.
I, also, loved the section on at-home beauty treatments where I found the sugar scrub recipe.
This 240-page book includes more than 200 easy, everyday recipes with almost 100 photographs and illustrations. Too Hot in the Kitchen is a practical, user-friendly cookbook designed for busy women and includes:
- 200 easy-to-prepare recipes
- Nutritional information and diabetic exchanges
- Symbols to highlight Freezer Friendly and Vegetarian recipes, and Creative coffee pairing ideas.
It, also, includes fun and entertaining chapters on:
- Cooking for two (Table for Two)
- No bake dishes (Lovin No Oven)
- Recipes for facial treatments (Diva Dermatology)
- Party recipes for groups (Effortless Entertaining).

Update: We had to do a slight variation to the pizza recipe but it was super delicious, quickly disappeared and has been requested by all three of my little ones. Definitely a winner!
