Giving Candy to Strangers by Stan Holden
I hadn’t even gotten through the first page of Stan Holden’s Giving Candy to Strangers: Tips for Creating Abundance Through Heart-Centered Sales that I received through iRead Book Tours to review and I had to put the book down – to find a highlighter and pen to take notes and document AH-HA moments!
This sentence truly jumped out at me and encompasses my thinking for my business from the beginning:
“What if you approached “sales” from a people-focused , heart-centered standpoint? What if you created relationships for no other reason than to help others and make new friends?”
WHAT?!? I know for many that seems completely counter-productive to sales, marketing and networking, however, Stan Holden lays out specific steps and actions to take that can help you do just that within your business.
“The bottom line is important, but if you detach from this burden while you are creating relationships, you will find that the health of your bottom line will improve on its own!”
I can go on and on with the wonderful nuggets that were in the 197 pages of Giving Candy to Strangers. I love that the chapters are short, easy reads so you can pick out the ones that really speak to you. Oh, and the fun facts at the end of many of the chapters were great tidbits you can include in conversations with your clients, colleagues and teenagers to make you appear as smart and awesome as you really are.
As a social media junkie influencer, I was glad to see chapters dedicated to creating meaningful relationships on social media websites. Yes, it is possible! Check out Part 7 of Giving Candy to Strangers and Stan Holden gives insight and actionable steps on how to do just that.
This book is a resource that will stay in my Divapreneur Bookshelf for some time.
