What Should You Include On Your Business Card
One of the first items most new businesses will invest in is their business cards. Having something to easily distribute to potential customers and business associates is essential to any business.
If you’re not the most creative type, determining just what to put on your business card can be daunting. How much is too much information? How much is too little? The “rules” for what is socially and professionally acceptable seem to regularly change.
Remember that your business card is a part of your overall brand and image – it should tie-in with your current marketing strategies and reflect the most current contact information.
There are some key items you should definitely consider putting on your business cards to ensure yours stands out:
- Include your tag line so your card explains what you (or your company) does.
- Include a professional photo (don’t have the funds to hire a photographer – have a friend take a headshot with a solid background and great lighting)
- Keep away from generic logos – invest in a customized logo for your business and make sure you use it on your printed materials and online presence.
- Include relevant social media outlets that you utilize regularly
- Have your business card spark action – sign on to your Facebook page, connect with your website, join your mailing list.
Remember to use quality paper – people can tell the difference and it will cause them to look twice and think twice before tossing it. And, for goodness sake, double, triple and quadruple check everything! My husband once ended up with 1000 business cards he couldn’t use because the website “auto-corrected” our last name incorrectly!
I recently had the opportunity to work with Grandstand Ink to receive new business cards. I was very pleased with the business cards I received from Grandstand Ink and the one-on-one customer service they provided. My user account included a proofs of both the front and back of the card for me to review and communicate any requested changes with the designer assigned to me. My designer was able to take my very vague idea and create a product that I love!
As I build Direct Sales Divas Connect – a website that is an extension of this one – having a professionally done business card to distribute will make a huge difference with the potential contacts and customers. GrandStand Ink, also, provides admission tickets, stickers, posters, and badges – products that can help you promote and brand your business.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
