Couple Time: Sunday Brunch at Bonefish Grill

My husband and I try to spend quality time together outside the house. We really do. However, with three children in the house, our jobs, businesses…life just seems to constantly get in the way.  This year for Valentine’s Day we had plans to go out – just the two of us – the Tuesday before Valentine’s Day (because this Diva refuses to go in a restaurant on the actual day…my patience cannot take the crowds and I was scheduled to be at a blog conference that weekend). Mother Nature, however, had other plans for us…

Winter Mess 2014 seriously delayed our Valentine's Plans

This past weekend, we finally had a chance to head out for Sunday Brunch at our local Bonefish Grill. I have been to Bonefish Grill numerous times for dinner and Happy Hour, but this was my first time experiencing their brunch.

As always, the service was fantastic! My years in the service industry have made me a stickler for the welcoming experience – especially acknowledging guests as soon as they hit your line of sight and greeting them with a warm and sincere welcome. We got both as soon as we entered the restaurant.

Our server quickly came to our table, introduced herself, took our drink orders and brought back my ultimate weakness …

…hot, delicious bread! Oh my goodness! And, yes, I was a glutton and ate most of it. What can I say? I’m a bread fan.

You cannot visit Bonefish Grill and not have their famous Bang Bang Shrimp! This is hands down my favorite appetizer and I could, easily, make a meal out of it and the bread.

For our main course, my husband and I both had omelets. I had the California Omelet that included Applewood bacon, cheddar, caramelized onions, tomatoes and topped with avocados:

My husband had the Oscar Omelet: smoked mozzarella, basil, lemon better, asparagus and topped with crab.  We assumed the asparagus would be diced or chopped into the omelet, but it wasn’t. Interesting, but still delicious:

We both chose to get the fresh fruit as our side…DEELISH!

Overall we had a fantastic time at our brunch! It was a sophisticated atmosphere at an affordable price. We are already making plans to have Happy Hour (and more Bang Bang Shrimp!) there one night soon.
