Holiday Recipes at Dollar General
Thanksgiving has always been split between my grandparents’ house – my mother’s siblings and their spouses, countless cousins, great aunts and uncles galore – and my parents’ house – Daddy’s home cooking, my parents, sisters and our spouses and children. The best part? There’s always tons of leftovers, love and laughter.
When you’re gathering to feed a family the size of ours, you find yourself making multiple trips to the closest store for essentials. This past weekend I was quite thankful for the neighborhood Dollar General with friendly, familiar faces, low prices, digital savings and all my must-haves (aka COFFEE!).
This year was much more laid back as it has been a tough time for our family in recent months. My cousins and I decided to spend quality time together catching up on one another’s lives, reminiscing and sharing lots of laughs.
There’s something about a hot cup of coffee when spending time with great people after a fantastic meal (or two – no judgement zone!).
‘Tis the season for pumpkin spice everything and I was able to show my little cousins how easy it was to create one of their favorite fall treats in the comfort of their own home. And, of course, let them know the best budget friendly ways to purchase the ingredients. Think about it. There’s almost always a local Dollar General and you can visit their digital savings website to maximize your savings while shopping.
See for yourself just how simple this is to whip up:
